About our service

We support participants to access safe, accessible, and comfortable Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). We work collaboratively with multiple SDA providers, investors, and networks to ensure housing meets the unique needs of participants, including proximity to family, hospitals, day programs, and community services.

All our SDA properties come with 24/7 Supported Independent Living (SIL) support, providing participants with continuous assistance while promoting independence, choice, and quality of life. Our approach is person-centred, collaborative, and aligned with NDIS goals.

Our SDA Process – Person-Centred and Collaborative

We follow a structured, participant-focused process to ensure the right SDA housing is matched to each individual:

  1. Submit an SDA Inquiry
Participants or their families share their preferred locations, proximity to family or services, and housing requirements.

  2. Assessment & Liaison
Mimosa Care collaborates with SDA providers, investors, allied health professionals, and the participant’s support network to understand individual needs and goals.

  3. Property Selection & Presentation
Based on SDA funding and housing requirements, we present 2–3 suitable properties to participants and their support network for consideration.

  4. Inspections & Comfort Checks
We arrange property inspections to ensure participants are comfortable, safe, and confident with the housing options. Accessibility, safety, and suitability are evaluated for all properties.

  5. Intake & NDIS Enrollment
Once a participant selects a property, we manage the intake process, including enrolling the property with the NDIS if needed. We also ensure all Occupational Therapy assessments, Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and professional recommendations are considered and implemented.

  6. 24/7 SIL Support
Participants receive round-the-clock SIL support, tailored to their personal needs, ensuring safety, independence, and continuity of care in their SDA home.
